Ah, Christmas movies in America

For no good reason, I love that the Hollywood powers that be thought these two movies should not only open against one another but also premiere on Christmas Day.

Amazing.

As you might expect, the Hollywood moguls were right in one way: I very much want to see them both.

Of course, I will watch almost any movie.

Any, that is, except the Twilight films.

Even I have limits.

Considering some of the movies you have blogged about, I would have to disagree with that statement. If you can stand to watch a Nicholas Cage movie, you can make it through the Twilight franchise. Just saying.

Compared to the worst Nicholas Cage movie, the best Twilight film is a smushed turd in the road.

It's all in how you watch them. As stand alone movies all but the first one (I didn't like it but it wasn't a bad movie) are really bad movies (Haven't watched most of them fully so I guess I could be wrong). But as pop art for the books their more then spectacular.

As for Nicholas Cage, well he stopped being an actor almost before he started and has just been doing the same 'act' ever since. All of his movies have been horrible as of late and although they might of been more watchable then Twilight they have none of the great pop art beyond just good special effects that twilight seems to be able to inspire with.

p.s. just wanted to say even when I disagree with you opinion Mark; I think your reviews are flabbergastingly factual and awesome. I would keep visiting your blog for them alone.

Thanks, Rehcra, for the perspective and the kind words.
